Sugar Maple - beginning to turn its stunning autumnal colours
6 Goldcrest were calling, 3 Treecreeper were noted, 2 Nuthatch were feeding in the large Oak west of Mote House, a Great Spotted Woodpecker called, 6 Jay were seen, a Siskin called whilst I stood on the Weir bridge, c23 Redwing were noted, 3 seperate flocks of Fieldfare passed west along the Len Valley totalling 56 individuals were seen, and it was interesting to see a couple of flocks of Starlings passing west over the Len Valley as well.
The Lake was pretty quiet really, with the best bird being a winter-plumaged adult Med Gull which was with the Black-headed Gulls on the eastern stretch of the Lake viewable from the Weir bridge. A Cormorant flew east over the park.
