Saturday 9th October

Now that I have started 5 days a week at Uni I am finding it increasingly difficult to visit the park. I couldn't visit the park until early afternoon today, but there was still lots of bird activity.

7 Goldcrests were noted, 2 Treecreeper called, a Nuthatch was heard, a Great Spotted Woodpecker called, a Chiff Chaff called in bushes by the Weir bridge, and it was great to see and hear the first Siskins of the autumn in the park. I had heard some moving through over Imperial College London during the week and I wondered whether they had reached the park yet as well!!

Of note on the Lake were 2 Cormorants, a Great Crested Grebe, and 2 Mute Swans.

Hi Simon.
Good luck at uni, 5 days a week. It is also good to see you are keeping your eye in at the park.
