Monday 2nd August

It was warm and sunny during my walk this morning, but there was plenty of cloud in the sky.

Old Cattle Area (large area of rough grassland)

Bird-wise the park remains fairly quiet, as-is typical at this time of year. The most notable species were 3 Goldcrest, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Treecreeper, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, a Linnet flew west over the large area of rough grassland (the Old Cattle Area), a Chiff Chaff called, and a Blackcap could be heard singing in bushes at the top of Jenner's Bank.

Gatekeeper

A Brown Hawker, a Southern Hawker, and a Common Darter were seen, and butterflies seen included lots of Gatekeeper, 3 Small Skipper, several Small and Large Whites were seen, 5 Meadow Brown, 2 Peacock, and 7 Common Blues were seen.
