Mote Park - A Wildlife Patchwork

A beautiful morning today with a lovely blue sky and warm sunshine.

4 Goldcrests were heard, 3 Treecreepers were noted, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen, a Green Woodpecker was heard, 6 Chiff Chaff were noted, 5 Blackcap were singing, 4 Whitethroats were singing, 2 Reed Warblers and 1 Reed Bunting were singing in the marsh area by the Weir bridge, and a Spotted Flycatcher was seen and heard singing in its traditional territory in the parkland west of Mote House - the first of the year, fantastic!!!

Of note on the Lake were at least 4 pairs of Great Crested Grebe, 3 Mute Swans, 2 Grey Herons, and 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Also of note were several Orange-tip and Green Veined White butterflies.
