Tuesday 22nd June

Firstly, apologies for the lack of posting. Final exams and Uni deadlines had to take first priority at the beginning of the month and slightly more recently I have also been doing many things in order to celebrate my 21st birthday.

It was very warm and humid for my walk this morning and the local wildlife was pretty quiet. 4 Goldcrests were noted, a Great Spotted Woodpecker was heard, 1 Nuthatch was heard, 3 Treecreepers were noted, 5 Chiff Chaff and 4 Blackcap were singing, a Spotted Flycatcher was singing and seen hunting in the parkland west of Mote House, and 3 Reed Warblers were singing.

Of note on the Lake were at least 45 Canada Geese, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Grey Heron and 1 Cormorant.

The only butterfly noted was a Common Blue.
