Tuesday 27th July

It was very warm and humid for my walk this morning. My walk was limited distance-wise due to the presence of a new best friend - a 13 week old puppy!

2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers were seen, 3 Nuthatch called, 4 Goldcrest were heard, a Blackcap was singing, 2 Coal Tits were noted, and 3 Jay were heard.

Speckled Wood

Butterflies seen included Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns, Large and Small Whites, 1 Red Admiral, and 1 Speckled Wood. A male Banded Demoiselle and a male Black-tailed Skimmer were seen along the River Len.

Hi Simon.
Now you have a excuse to go out more often, to take your new best friend out for a walk.
So what breed is he Simon?

Hi Greenie and Ken. I would love a Border Collie very very much, but due family allergy problems, we had to look for a breed which doesn't moult its fur. In the end we fell in love with...wait for it...a Bichon Frise/Chihuahua cross. Very very cute (not a man-ly dog) and looks very much like a Westie.
