Baby Magpie bathing
Spotted Flycatchers can be found by those who can recognise the call, a male Kestrel can be seen regularly in the rough grassland north of the River Len, a pair of Mute Swans laid a clutch of eggs with 3 cygnets hatching but only 1 currently survives. 12 flowering spikes of Southern Marsh Orchid were located, which is up from just the 3 in previous years. Banded Demoiselles can be found along the River Len. Slowworms can be found in good numbers, plus there have been 2 reliable sightings of Adder from visitors to the park, which is exciting! Large, Essex and Small Skippers are now on the wing, and so too are Gatekeepers and Meadow Browns. The first Ringlet was found 30th June.
