Saturday 26th February

Unfortunately Uni work has to come before visits to Mote Park, which has meant that today, my last visit of the month, is only my third visit of the month. I could only visit the park in the afternoon today, and this coincided with heavy rain showers.

2 Goldcrest were noted, 2 Green Woodpecker were heard, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker called, a Treecreeper was heard, 3 Siskin were seen, a Coal Tit was singing, 4 Redwing were seen, a Grey Heron was perched in a tree viewed from the Weir bridge, and at least 5 Mediterranean Gulls were seen amongst a flock of around 170 Black-heade1d Gulls.

It was lovely to hear Blackbird joining the Song and Mistle Thrushes singing.
