8 Goldcrest were noted, 4 Coal Tit were heard, 3 Nuthatch were heard, 1 Treecreeper was heard, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker called, a Stock Dove sang from the Len Valley, 5 Chiff Chaff called, and a Meadow Pipit flew south. Bird of the day was a MARSH HARRIER, seen whilst standing at the top of the old Georgian Steps (the same place I saw the Honey Buzzard last year), and it was high up in a thermal moving north-east towards Bearsted.
Distant Marsh Harrier
There are very few birds on the Lake at the moment, however it was a nice surpirse to see a female Shoveler on the eastern stretch. This species of duck has become a regular autumn visitor for the past 3 years now. Also on the Lake were 2 Herring Gulls, 6 Mute Swan, and a Grey Heron was stood on the Golf Course side of the Lake.
2 Speckled Wood and 3 Small White butterflies were also seen.

Great record of the Harier Simon, had one last month, but didn't photograph it as well as you did yours :-)
