Friday 6th August

Mainly overcast this morning for my walk in the park.

3 Goldcrest were heard, 2 Treecreepers were heard, a Nuthatch called, a Green Woodpecker was seen, 2 young Sparrowhawks could be heard, a Bullfinch was heard, and a Blackcap sang from bushes close to the Waterfall.

Ollie

The butterflies were slightly less active today due to the increased cloud cover, but despite this: Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Common Blue, Large White, Small White, Peacock, and Speckled Wood were all seen. The old boating ramps are completely covered in nectar-rich flowers at the moment and is a fantastic place to look for invertebrates; and being close to the water means that lots of Dragonflies can be seen with Common Blue and Azure Damselflies, Black-tailed Skimmer, and Southern Hawker all making an appearance.

That introduction to Ollie was slipped in very quietly .
