The Park was cloaked in a thick mist this morning, making conditions difficult for locating the local wildlife. It eventually began to clear at about 9.50am, presenting favourable conditions for taking a few photos.
Several mixed feeding flocks were seen, birds spotted amongst the tits were: 1 cock Blackcap, 2 Goldcrest, 3 of 5 Nuthatch, 1 Treecreeper, and 5 Chiff Chaff. A flock of at least 16 Siskins were seen high up in an Alder in the Alder Carr along the River Len, a Coal Tit was heard singing, 3 Redwing were heard through the mist, a Jay were seen, a Great Spotted Woodpecker flew into an Oak whilst I stood by the Weir, and a Song Thrush was heard singing along Laurel Walk. I chatted to a gentleman by the Weir who told me that he had seen Grey Wagtail and a Kingfisher in the area.

Chiff Chaff
On the Lake were Mallards, Coots, Moorhens, 7 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Mute Swans, and a flock of 8 Canada Geese. A pair of Tufted Duck and a adult Little Grebe were on the eastern section of the Lake. The gull flock on the Lake held at least 114 Black-headed Gulls, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull and 6 Common Gulls, 4 Cormorants were seen around the Lake – with 3 birds perched on the island next to the Weir – a Grey Heron was heard briefly in the mist from the marsh area.
