Wednesday 17th September

I paid 2 visits to the Park today. My first was an early morning visit, and my second was in the afternoon, hoping an Osprey might pay me a visit - no such luck.

2 Goldcrests were noted, 2 Treecreeper were in an Alder along the River Len, 3 Nuthatch were heard calling, a Coal Tit sang from a Yew along Laurel Walk, 4 Bullfinch were heard, 10 Chiff Chaffs were noted, a flock of 16 Siskins fed in the Alders by the marsh, a Kestrel was seen flying over the area in front of Mote House, 5 Great Spotted Woodpeckers were heard, a Grey Wagtail fed next to me as I sat on a bench next to the Lake, 3 Green Woodpeckers were seen, 3 Jays were seen, a male Blackcap was spotted amongst a mixed feeding flock at the top of the track from the Weir, 2 Sparrowhawks were seen, 2 Meadow Pipits and a Pied Wagtail flew over, and 13 Swallow were seen passing through.
