Wednesday 10th September

A lovely warm sun greeted me this morning, and continued to shine throughout my 2 hour early morning visit.

8 Chiff Chaffs were noted – with 1 individual heard singing - a Goldcrest sang from a Yew along Laurel Walk, a Green Woodpecker called from the area in front of Mote House, 3 Jay were seen, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were with the Black-headed Gulls on the top playing field, 42 Swallows, 3 House Martin, 7 Meadow Pipits, and 3 Cormorants were noted flying over, a Willow Warbler called from the Oaks by the top playing field - only my second record in the Park this year - 4 Nuthatch were heard, 4 Great Spotted Woodpeckers called, and a lone Pied Wagtail was on the bottom playing field.

On the Lake were Mallards, Coots, Moorhens, a pair of Tufted Duck and a pari of Great crested Grebe, 4 Mute Swans, and a flock of 21 Canada Geese. 5 Black-headed Gulls were on the Lake, 2 Cormorants were fishing in the Lake, a Grey Heron was perched on the eastern edge of the Lake, and 3 Kingfishers were seen around the Lake.
